Fully Balanced, Ergonomically-designed
Tooth and Root Extractors
CKDI Lexit surgical instruments are truly unique in their design and function, because of the many advances in technology and enhanced knowledge of anatomy, histology and biomechanics. Unlike most current methods of tooth and root removal, Lexits are easy to use, minimize the need for flap procedures and bone removal, dramatically decrease surgery time and provide consistent and predictable results.
How do Lexits work?
The principle of tooth removal using Lexits is one of compression and displacement. The Lexit’s blades are designed to compress the periodontal ligament and then, when axial rotation and apical force are applied, a “hydraulic” effect occurs, raising the tooth from the socket. The striated vents on the blades assist in maintaining the controlled displacement of the tooth.
Directions for Use
To use Lexits properly, hold this precision instrument in the palm of your hand with the forefinger extended on the shaft pointing to the tip. This position allows maximum tactile sensation and instrument control.
The thin blade will penetrate the ligament space to the depth of full compression of the ligament. Using a gentle axial reciprocating (back and forth) rotation with increased apical force, the “hydraulic” effect occurs from the compression of the ligament and the root will be lifted from the confines of its bony socket. It is always important that you protect the tissues and structures adjacent to the surgical site. It is therefore recommended that you place the thumb and forefinger of the opposite hand around the alveolar ridge at the surgical site. This placement also increases tactile feel to detect immediately any movement of the tooth or any dislocation of the Lexit.
